The Aquatic Park and the Maritime Museum - San Francisco

San Francisco, a paradise on earth, has many important tourist spots. Fisherman's Wharf is one of them. There are many places within Fisherman's Wharf which worth visiting. This blog post will introduce you to the Aquatic Park and the San Francisco Maritime Museum.

 
The Aquatic Park is located towards the eastern end of Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. The park is small but lovely. It is the top site in Fisherman's Wharf. One path from the park would lead you to the picturesque sandy beach of San Francisco. You can find hundreds of people walking, jogging, or just sitting and watching the sea on the beach. San Francisco beach is very much loved by most tourists visiting San Francisco.



Near the Aquatic Park, the historical building of the Maritime Museum is located. The design of the building is unique, and it is about 70 years old. The small museum houses some models of antique vessels and a few ship-related objects. The best place of the museum is the balcony at the back side, from where you can get the breathtaking view of the beach and the distant view of Golden Gate Bridge.

Putlur Angala Parameswari Temple - Chennai

Angala Parameswari Temple in Putlur, near  Chennai  city of South India, is a unique temple. The Goddess is in the form of a pregnant woman in this temple. The icon of Angala Parameswari is believed to be self-manifested, called swayambhu.  As per the legend, a village head tortured a poor for borrowed money. The poor was forced to plough an infertile land. While ploughing the ground full of rocks, the villager noticed that blood was oozing out from a particular place. There, he discovered the image of the Goddess. It is a snake hole (putru in Tamil - where snakes live) in the form of a woman in a sleeping posture with her mouth kept open, and her bulged stomach like a pregnant woman. A 17th century Dargah with healing power - Mount Road Dargah, Chennai, India

Mount Road or Anna Salai is one of the most happening places in  Chennai . There are two famous Islamic shrines on Mount Road – one is  Thousands Light mosque . The other one is Dargah-e-Hazrath Syed Moosa Shah Qadri Baghdadi (Rahmatullah Alaihi), also known as Mount Road Dargah. It is the most popular Dargah across the city. It draws devotees of all faiths and all walks of life. Especially every Thursday, a large number of devotees gather to the Dargah. A lot of city-based celebrities regularly visit the site. This Dargah is the shrine of a Muslim Saint named Hazrath Syed Moosa Shah Qadri Baghdadi. He was also known as Rahmatullah Alaihi.
