West Bengal's Gaudiya Math in Chennai

Gaudiya Math (also written as Gaudiya Mutt) was established in 1918 in Mayapur in West Bengal of India.The objective of Gaudiya Mutt is to spread the preachings of Chaitanya Maha Prabhu, the great devotee of Lord Kirshna. A lot of branches of Gaudiya Mutt were established in various places across India.

In Chennai city of South India also, there is branch of Gaudiya Mutt. It is located at Royapettah area in Chennai. Similar to any other Gaudiya Mutt, this Mutt in Chennai also has a small temple for Lord Krishna. Lord Krisha is found in the form of a black marble idol. It is extraordinarily beautiful idol. Krishna is found holding flute and posing with his beloved lady Radha. Chaitanya Maha Prabhu is also found in the same shrine. Apart from this small temple, there is a big prayer hall containing various images and photographs of Chaitanya and Krishna.

Gaudiya Mutt in Chennai is very old. It was founded in 1932 CE. When you get a chance, don't miss to visit this beautiful place.
