The International Society for Krishna Consciousness, popularly known as Hare Krishna Movement or ISKCON, was founded 1966 CE in New York, USA. It is a Gaudiya Vaishnavism religious movement, which believes that Lord Krishna is the supreme deity.


In the last few decades, the ISKCON movement has become very popular and got a lot of followers across the USA and India. The temples built by the movement are popularly called as ISKCON temples. A lot of such temples are found across various cities in India. The capital city of India, Delhi, also has its own ISKCON temple, which is a prominent tourist site in the city.


The ISKCON temple of Delhi known as Radha Parthasarathy Temple is located in a small hill known as Hare Krishna hills in East of Kailash area of Delhi city. This beautiful temple was built in 1993 CE. The sanctum santorum of the temple has the beautiful idols of Radha and Parthasarathy (Krishna). On either sides of the sanctum santorum, there are two shrines - one shrine enshrines Ram, Lakshman, Sita and Hanuman whereas the other shrine enshrines the attractive idols of Krishna and Balram.


The walls and the ceiling of the temple are found with the paintings depicting various scenes related to Krishna. The temple complex is huge and there are halls for religious discourses and music. Another attraction of the temple is light and sound show. Even a vegetarian restaurant is also found within the complex.


From the balcony of the temple, one can get the aerial view of Lotus temple.


It is indeed a beautiful site, not to be missed, when you are in Delhi.
