Ocean Park in Hong Kong is considered as one of the best theme parks in the entire world. It might not be correct to call this amazing place merely as a theme park; it is much more than that. It is a marine mammal park, animal theme park and amusement park. Even after Hong Kong got Disney Land as an attraction, this original theme park of Hong Kong never lost its importance. This remains as one of the most visited theme parks across the globe.

The park is covering an area of about 226 acres and is separated into two areas - the Summit and the Waterfront by a large mountain. The tourists can reach from one place to another place either through 1.5 km cable car system or the Ocean Express funicular railway.

Let us try and explore the various sections and attractions of the park.

The Waterfront

Aqua City

 The Waterfront plaza is a place where you can find hilarious clowns and lively carnival settings. Old Hong Kong brings back the memory those good old days of Hong Kong (1950s - 70s). Grand Aquarium is a huge aquarium with a lot of water species on display. 

 Amazing Asian Animals

 Visit this place for amazing Asian animals such as Pandas, rare birds, gold fish, etc.

Whiskers Harbour

This is a fun place with a lot of rides which include merry-go-round, frog hopper, bouncer house, etc.

The Summit

Marine World

Watch the amazing animal show at Ocean Theatre. Watch sea lions and seals closely like never before at Pacific Pier. Also, enjoy some of the adventurous and fund rides such as The Abyss, Flying Swing, Ocean Park Tower, The Dragon, etc.

Polar Adventure

Watch exotic living beings of polar regions such as walruses, penguins, etc and some thrill rides in Polar Adventure.

Adventure Land

This place is for those love adventure rides - Mine Train, Raging River, Space Wheel, etc.

Thrill Mountain

Some of the rides in this section are for those who love adventure. In fact, these rides make you feel more adventurous than that of Adventure Land. Some important rides in this area are Hair Raiser, Bungee Trampoline, etc.

Rain Forest Trail

 A wonderful water ride - The Rapids, and an expedition are the attractions of this section.

 If you want to thoroughly enjoy Ocean Park, you need minimum two days. Plan accordingly and enjoy.

Putlur Angala Parameswari Temple - Chennai

Angala Parameswari Temple in Putlur, near  Chennai  city of South India, is a unique temple. The Goddess is in the form of a pregnant woman in this temple. The icon of Angala Parameswari is believed to be self-manifested, called swayambhu.  As per the legend, a village head tortured a poor for borrowed money. The poor was forced to plough an infertile land. While ploughing the ground full of rocks, the villager noticed that blood was oozing out from a particular place. There, he discovered the image of the Goddess. It is a snake hole (putru in Tamil - where snakes live) in the form of a woman in a sleeping posture with her mouth kept open, and her bulged stomach like a pregnant woman. A 17th century Dargah with healing power - Mount Road Dargah, Chennai, India

Mount Road or Anna Salai is one of the most happening places in  Chennai . There are two famous Islamic shrines on Mount Road – one is  Thousands Light mosque . The other one is Dargah-e-Hazrath Syed Moosa Shah Qadri Baghdadi (Rahmatullah Alaihi), also known as Mount Road Dargah. It is the most popular Dargah across the city.
