Ambasamudram is a picturesque town located on the banks of the beautiful Tamraparni river and on the foothills of the Western Ghats. The nearest city of Ambasamudram is Tirunelveli. It is located in Tamil Nadu state in South India.The town has a lot of scenic spots and temples. Papanasam is a smaller town located near Ambasamudram which offers a lot more scenic spots, dams and wonderful waterfalls. Let us explore a scenic destination, Kalyana Teertham.

Agastiar Falls is a small but scenic waterfalls located in Papanasam. If you trek the hillock above the Agastiar falls, you will reach to Kalyana Teertham. It is a waterfalls and stream flowing down towards Agastiar falls. This place is much more beautiful than Agastiar falls. The water over here is crystal clear and appears to be much cleaner. People are allowed to take bath in the stream but not allowed to reach upto waterfalls due to security reasons. 

The idols of Agastya and his consort Lopamudra installed on a rock near the stream look very attractive.

The entire region is extremely beautiful; it is completely surrounded by Western Ghats hillocks; the ultimate sound of waterfalls and the divine feel due to proximity of temple.

In this place, a small temple of Shiva named Kodi Lingeswarar is found. Apart from Shiva Linga and his consort Loka Nayaki in separate shrines, the idols of Ganesha, Kartikeya and Agastya are also found in this temple. There are some beautiful miniature bas-relief images such as Narsimha, Krishna with four arms and playing flute, Uma and Maheswara on Rishabha, etc. on the temple walls.

Krishnammal was a lady who spent most of her time in this hillock. She is considered as a Siddha by devotees. Her ashram is also found in this region.

It's a serene, silent, peaceful and exceptionally beautiful location. Don't miss to visit this place.

Putlur Angala Parameswari Temple - Chennai

Angala Parameswari Temple in Putlur, near  Chennai  city of South India, is a unique temple. The Goddess is in the form of a pregnant woman in this temple. The icon of Angala Parameswari is believed to be self-manifested, called swayambhu.  As per the legend, a village head tortured a poor for borrowed money. Mount Road or Anna Salai is one of the most happening places in  Chennai . There are two famous Islamic shrines on Mount Road – one is  Thousands Light mosque .
