Madambakkam is a locality in East Tambaram near Chennai city in South India. There is a rare temple of Kolkata Kali located here. Let us explore about this site in this article.

The temple is small but beautiful with vast open space. It is located very near to the Indian Air Force Camp in Camp Road, Madambakkam area. 

The main deity of the temple is Kali. She resembles the Kali idol in the famous temple in Kolkata. The temple architecture resembles Bengali style of architecture. It is unusual to find a Bengali style temple in Chennai.

There is another shrine dedicated to Shiva Linga where he is found along with Ganesha, Kartikeya and his mount Nandi.

Putlur Angala Parameswari Temple - Chennai

Angala Parameswari Temple in Putlur, near  Chennai  city of South India, is a unique temple. The Goddess is in the form of a pregnant woman in this temple. The icon of Angala Parameswari is believed to be self-manifested, called swayambhu.  As per the legend, a village head tortured a poor for borrowed money. Mount Road or Anna Salai is one of the most happening places in  Chennai . There are two famous Islamic shrines on Mount Road – one is  Thousands Light mosque .
