At the outskirts of Poomparai village, there is small temple of Maha Lakshmi. More than for the spiritual reasons, the temple is popular for its scenic beautiful surrounding.

Maha Lakshmi temple is a new temple constructed recently in a small hill near Poomparai village. Poomparai village is located at a distance of around 18 kms from the heart of Kodaikanal town.

The temple is built as per the Kerala temple architectural style. The sanctum sanctorum has the idol of Maha Lakshmi. The metal utsava idols of Maha Vishnu, Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi are also placed in the main shrine.

The sub-shrine of Ganesha and few idols of Nagas are also located in this temple.

The temple is surrounded by beautiful sight of valleys, hills and plains. People come to this temple mainly to enjoy the scenic beauty of the location.

Happy travelling.
