A lot of tourists visit Kodaikanal as it is a popular tourist destination. However, not all of them go to the nearby Poomparai village. Poomparai is a small but beautiful village located near Kodaikanal.

Poomparai has two important places of interest, Maha Lakshmi temple and Kuzhandai Velappar Temple. However, more than these temples, the Poomparai village view, the aerial view of the scenic village from a particular point, is very popular. Thanks to the breathtaking view of this site, it has become one of the sought-after cine shooting spot.

Poomparai village is popular for quality garlic (called as Poondu) and fresh bright carrot. 

When you go to Kodaikanal, do not forget to drive down to Poomparai and enjoy this extraordinary site.

Putlur Angala Parameswari Temple - Chennai

Angala Parameswari Temple in Putlur, near  Chennai  city of South India, is a unique temple. The Goddess is in the form of a pregnant woman in this temple. The icon of Angala Parameswari is believed to be self-manifested, called swayambhu.  As per the legend, a village head tortured a poor for borrowed money. The poor was forced to plough an infertile land. While ploughing the ground full of rocks, the villager noticed that blood was oozing out from a particular place. There, he discovered the image of the Goddess. Mount Road or Anna Salai is one of the most happening places in  Chennai . There are two famous Islamic shrines on Mount Road – one is  Thousands Light mosque . The other one is Dargah-e-Hazrath Syed Moosa Shah Qadri Baghdadi (Rahmatullah Alaihi), also known as Mount Road Dargah. It is the most popular Dargah across the city.
