Orirukkai is a village located at a distance of around 5 kms from Kanchipuram city in South India. A temple for Kanchi Maha Swamy was built in the recent times (in 2011 CE) here. It is unique as it is not dedicated to any God but to a Godly saint. 
Kanchi Maha Swamy:

Kanchi Shankara Math is one of the five maths started by Adi Shankaracharya. The 68th Shankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham Math was Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swami. He was also called as Kanchi Maha Swamy.

Temple Layout:

Many of the temple vimanas are built of mixed materials such as stone, wood, metal, bricks and other such materials. They are called as Misra Vimanas. The vimana of this Mani Mandapa temple of Maha Swamy is entirely built of stone. The vimanas that are built of single materials are called as Suddha vimana.

The sanctum sanctorum is in the form of mandapa with four pillar in the four corners. The portrait of Maha Swamy and his holy sandals are placed in the mandapa.

The front side mandapa has one hundred pillars.

The outer walls of the temple have some interesting sculptures such as Ganesha, Adi Shankara with his disciples, Maha Vishnu, Maha Swamy and the rare Pradosha tandava posture of Shiva along with the other deities and Devas.

Angala Parameswari Temple in Putlur, near  Chennai  city of South India, is a unique temple. The Goddess is in the form of a pregnant woman in this temple. The icon of Angala Parameswari is believed to be self-manifested, called swayambhu.  As per the legend, a village head tortured a poor for borrowed money.
